Inner Journey with the Drum &

Native American Values

Presenters/Facilitators: - Nancy Sikharam & Frank Broderick

Mitakuye Oyasin - We are all related.

Please join us for a discussion focusing on Native American Values. We will discuss several values that the Native American's hold close to their hearts including respect for nature and Mother Earth, the importance of the "circle" and child stewardship, the importance of quiet and observance, plus the benefits of Vision Quests. Also, we will touch briefly on other Native American values.

Frank Broderick will lead us with his drum on an inner drum journey. He learned this drumming as a student of shaman and anthropologist Dr. Michael Harner, author of The Way of the Shaman. Frank has over 40 years of involvement in American Indian communities, particularly with the South Dakota Rosebud and Pine Ridge reservations. He was invited to and attended 21 Sundance ceremonies. In the 1980’s he regularly attended Sweat Lodge ceremonies with Amos Owen at the Prairie Island reservation. He was honored to be named a pipe carrier by a Pine Ridge Medicine Man.

Nancy Sikharam is a Certified Medium and an Ordained Minister. She is also a student of Native American Spirituality with a focus on different tribes and tribal leaders. She has several interesting experiences to share honoring the importance of Native American sacred lands. Nancy is a long-time member of Unity and the Association for Research and Enlightenment.

MAGNT, the Minnesota chapter of the Association for Global New Thought, offers activities to expand consciousness. Its purpose is to inspire, inform and empower people to create an awakened world. MAGNT is supported by local Unity churches and Centers for Spiritual Living.

There is no admission fee for MAGNT programs unless specified. Donations are welcome. No need to pre-register. Just come and be warmly included. Come to learn, to ask questions, and to engage in spirited conversation with the group.

We look forward to seeing you.
